We ask you to be mindful of their time and ours\, and to register only if you effectively plan to attend). \n  \nYou can pick 2 discussion sessions with the following guests: \nThomas Lonjaret defended his PhD in bioelectronic (cutaneous sensors for electrophysiology) in 2016. He then worked as a software developer for various start-up companies\, on medical applications (but not only). He then joined the start-up Pytheas Navigation as a R&D engineer. There\, he worked on a computer assisted spine surgery project\, which includes the hardware and software development of a prototype. Since september 2018\, he has worked at MinMaxMedical\, as R&D engineer\, then as project manager and finally as Robotics Team Manager\, in the domain of medical robotics and computer assisted surgery. \nDiana Mihaela Dinca defended her PhD in Neurobiology at the Imagine Institute in 2017. She then specialized in medical writing and worked almost 3 years at VMLY&Rx Paris. Her main missions consisted of accompanying pharmaceutical companies in their communication strategy\, to promote innovative products/services\, and writing communication tools for patients and healthcare professionals on different diseases including diabetes\, chronic pain and allergies. For the past year\, Diana has been working as a medical writer at Publicis Health. \nChristelle Eyraud defended her PhD in 2016 in Immunology\, on hematopoietic stem cells in a rare immune defect. Then\, she did a post-doctorat for 3 years in the IRSL. For 2 years\, Christelle has been working as a patent engineer in an intellectual property company at ICOSA. \nVictoria Naipal has finished her PhD at the Max-Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg on the topic of “Modelling long-term global soil erosion with Earth System Models”. Shen then did a postdoc at the LSCE on the topic of carbon sequestration and emissions in agricultural soils. She also did a postdoc at the Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) on the modeling of the mangroves carbon cycle. Since May 2021 she has joined the Climate Risk Team of EcoAct as an expert on physical climate risks. \n& Véronique Mariotti did her thesis in modeling at LSCE on the carbon cycle in the ice age. She then performed the climate diagnostics for the 1st climate change adaptation plan of the City of Montreal. At EcoAct since 2016\, Véronique leads the development of climate risk analysis services for companies. \nBenjamin Boumard defended his doctoral thesis on DNA repair mechanisms in intestinal stem cells in fruit flies in July 2021. In the last months of his PhD\, he explored different career options in public administration. He obtained a position of Deputy Attaché for Science and Technology in VIA (International Volunteering in Administration) at the Embassy of France in the United States\, in Atlanta\, in September 2021. Following her 2 post-docs at the Imagine Institute and then at the Institut du Fer à Moulin in Paris\, she joined Ipsen which is a pharmaceutical company 2 years ago. After having had several different positions in medical affairs within this company\, Valentina is now Medical Science Liaison\, with an expertise on anti-cancer treatments for kidney and prostate\, and is in charge of the Auvergne Rhône – Alpes and Bourgogne Franche Comté regions. \nNathan Beckouche obtained his PhD in 2013\, after spending 3 years at the Collège de France working on angiogenesis. He then did a post-doc at the UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco before leaving the classical academic path. After working for a few months in the private company Alexion as a project manager on drug discovery\, he was for more than 3 years a self-employed consultant in the same field of expertise. Nathan is now co-founder and director of pre-clinical development at AtmosR\, a biotech company developing innovative treatments for rare central nervous system diseases. \nMatthieu Lemasson has defended a thesis in Dr. Arielle ROSENBERG lab in 2015 on the diversion of hepatocyte lipid metabolism by HCV (example of lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransférase 1) followed by a postdoctoral contract in this same lab. After that\, he has worked as researcher engineer in Institut National de la Transfusion Sanguine (INTS\, Paris) on the identification of antisense oligonucleotides antiviral mechanism on the viral particle secretion of HBV and HDV. A novel researcher engineer has followed in the company Sleep Apnea Innovation (SABI\, ROMAINVILLE) on the identification of molecular markers of sleep apnea to develop clinical diagnostic kits. Now he is study director in Texcell\, a company specialized on viral safety. \nRenaud Pourpre did his PhD at INRAE (Paris-Saclay) on epigenetics consequences of bacterial infections and defended in 2019. During his PhD\, he helped organize Science outreach events such as the “Pint of Science Festival”. After graduating\, he followed his passion for Science outreach; first in the French Government as a project manager in the Ministry of Research and Higher Education\, then as a freelance communicator specialized in audio and video. He manages two podcasts\, “The Lonely Pipette”\, that he hosts together with Jonathan Weitzman and that is geared towards scientists\, and “Quand le Crime parle”\, a crime solving podcast geared towards a wider audience. You want to get involved in the life of your campus or of PSL?      Apply HERE for the YouR PSL Council! \n  \nThe Autumn General Assembly of the Association of Young Researchers of Paris Sciences et Lettres University (YouR PSL) will take place on Monday\, October 18th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the ENS. The agenda of this General Assembly includes the moral report\, the activity of the association\, the accounting report of the semester\, the membership of YouR PSL to the CJC\, and the first formalization of the YouR PSL federation\, on which the assembly will be able to vote. The list of those elected to the new board of directors will then be revealed. \nAny member of the association can suggest to complete the agenda by October 15th at 6pm by email at your@psl.eu. \nYou can apply for the council until October 14th at 6pm by submitting your application on this form or by email to your@psl.eu. The list of candidates will be submitted to the votes of the members of the association by email on October 14th at 10pm (for those wishing to vote online)\, the votes will be open online until October 18th at 4pm and will be finalized in person during the GA. \nIf you cannot be present at the GA\, you can give a proxy to someone present to vote on your behalf. The person giving the proxy must fill in this form before October 15th at 6pm. DESCRIPTION:Hello to all\, \nThe Professional Breakfasts continue their event on Zoom ! \nThis is an opportunity for you to talk with doctors who have chosen a professional course outside the academic after the thesis\, during a privileged and friendly moment. \nFor this event which cannot be done in person yet\, the associations ADELIS\, ChADoC\, YR2I\, Doc’Up\, JeCCO\, BioDocs\, Stapa\, ADIC\, YouR PSL and Les Ajités will meet you on Thursday\, September 23th from 7 to 8:10 pm\, online (the Zoom link will be sent to you a few days before). \nThis event is made for young researchers\, so it’s time to mark this date in your agenda! We are now opening the registration process. \n  \nClick here to register \n  \nThey have already confirmed their arrival: \nFanny Roth defended her PhD on oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy at the Institute of Myology in 2019. Since then\, she has been R&D project manager at The Healthy Aging Company. Her main tasks consist of fundraising\, communication and business development tasks as well as pre-clinical tasks including assistance in planning laboratory experiments\, monitoring and collecting results and writing activity reports. \nNikita Menezes obtained her PhD in bioinformatics at the ENS in 2019. Since then she has been a freelancer as a graphic designer and scientific illustrator. She offers her services to both the private and academic sector to create various illustrations\, marketing materials\, research data visualization and social media materials. \nChristophe Martella has followed an academic track before starting a thesis on HTLV-1 associated Adult T cell leukemia and the transcriptional regulation involved in HTLV-1 provirus expression in the Retrovius\, infection and latence lab in Cochin Institute. After that\, he was recruited by Miltenyi Biotec as Clinical account manager cell and gene therapy. \nBenjamin Lassus defended his PhD in 2016 at Université Pierre et Marie Curie\, during which he developed a high high-throughput microfluidic platform to study neuronal network calcium activity. He then did a Post-doctoral fellowship at CNRS\, learning and optimizing microfluidic fabrication processes. He did a second post-doc at Columbia University (New York)\, where he worked on preventing the propagation of tauopathies in the CNS using microfluidic devices. He is now microfluidic scientist at HiFiBio\, Paris. \nWilko Duprez began working in the pharmaceutical industry in the United States before undertaking a PhD in medicinal biochemistry in Australia. It was during his PhD that he discovered a vocation for science communication\, hosting radio shows and science popularization events. After two short post-docs\, he took the plunge and completed a Master’s degree in Science Communication at Imperial College London\, which led to freelance work for the BBC. After a stint in Japan as a science communication officer for a young university\, Wilko became a virtual reality science simulation director for Labster\, a start-up based in Denmark. We are now opening the registration process. \n  \nClick here to register \n  \nThey have already confirmed their arrival: \n  \nFlorian Andrianiazy obtained his PhD in physics in 2015 after a CIFRE PhD carried out between the Thalès research centre and the laboratory of interface physics at the Ecole Polytechnique. After a long experience in the world of young researchers\, he co-founded PhDTalent in 2017\, whose objective is to accelerate the connection between the academic world and companies through freelance missions by researchers\, recruitment and events. \nGweltas Odye defended his PhD on renal ciliopathies at the Imagine Institute in 2018. Since then\, he has specialised in innovation consulting. At the interface of scientific and financing issues in terms of R&D and innovation\, he is currently a consultant within the scientific pole dedicated to innovation financing of KPMG Avocats (KPMG Global)\, and assists French and international companies on a daily basis in financing their innovation projects. \nMathilde Maillard is in her third year of PhD in materials at the Mateis laboratory of Insa Lyon\, a mixed research unit from Insa Lyon\, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and CNRS. In June 2020\, she created her first podcast of “Bien dans ma thèse”\, followed by a series of podcasts and videos to remedy the lack of information and support on the PhD. She quickly diversified by launching a website\, a Youtube channel and Twitch and signed her partnership with Bpifrance to promote i-PhD\, a competition intended for doctoral students. \nClément Gautier is director of external innovation in the department of rare diseases and neurosciences at Ipsen. He got his PhD in Biophysics in 2005 in the Laboratory for Optics and Biosciences at Ecole Polytechnique. He then spent five years as a postdoctoral fellow in Harvard Medical School at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital to study mitochondrial dysfunctions in animal and cellular models of Parkinson’s disease. Back in France\, he worked at the Paris Brain Institute as a research scientist for two years. From there he was recruited at Servier where he led a team working in novel cellular assays for drug discovery and novel targets in neurodegenerative diseases. You can follow the event on Facebook. \n  \n\nHeni Abida\, Business strategy Lead @ Rakuten Medical \nWith a PhD in Biotechnology\, Genetic engineering and Metabolic networks from ENS-PSL\, and MA in Management from Collège des Ingénieurs\, Heni has achieved an extensive and well-rounded career\, which has led him to his current position of Business Strategy Lead at Rakuten Medical. \n  \nSarah Christoph\, Scientific Mediator @ Universcience \nAs an engineer from ESPCI-PSL\, Sarah has graduated with a  PhD project in  physico-chemistry of materials applied to biological processes from College de France. She is currently a scientific mediator\, carrying out missions at the Palais de la Découverte. \n  \nSlava Mazlin\, Cofounder @ SharpEye \nDuring his PhD from ESPCI-PSL Slava created an optical device able  to diagnose in a non-invasive fashion disorders in the eye. Realising the potential this device might have on the health sector by way of  business competitions like i-PhD\, he set on the career path of an entrepreneur.
